REVIEW: GOPAL’S DEATH

Gopal is a car thief and involved in many such cases before he was caught. He is also a suspect of various cases of rape.  He is a very dangerous to society and what has been done by him is a serious crime.

After five days he was being arrested by police in Subang Jaya, he died. His family is claiming he was tortured in a case which has set off an emotional response from an Indian community which has grown suspicious of alleged victimization.

Gopal’s family take that action because of photo of Gopal’s body taken by his family who had stormed into a government mortuary after his death showed a number of bruises and cuts, and they have been widely distributed over the internet, further inflaming the controversy. However we must remember he is a criminal, most likely his body has a lot of scar. As we know, the power of internet can influence public thinking without evidence. Now, everyone have their own speculation on this case and blame to the police.

Gopal’s case also involving politician’s especially Indian politicians. Sometimes, we are wonder, what actually politicians want to defend? Or maybe they just think of political interests to gain community support for their party. If it is true, they should think again that this case involve a criminal who has committed the crime of endangering public.

In addition, Gopal’s case cannot occasionally be associated with racial issues. Not all police in Malaysia are the Malays, and most likely the police deal with the Gopal’s case can be Indians. However there is no significant racial issue here, but why should Gopal’s death be exaggerated?  He may die because of disease and accidental strike after five days he was arrested.

The police officers have evidences that Gopal is a car thief.

However, to give satisfaction to the Gopal’S family, the investigation can be done. But, do not let all sorts of speculations immorality created by some irresponsible people. One more thing, we need to go back to the fact that Gopal is a person who commits a crime that is very dangerous. So, it is useful for us to continue discussing this isuue? There are a lot of other issues that we should think and not look on this only useless case.
